Just want to verify that I found the correct numbers. For year 2016 the meal rates are:
Breakfast: $1.32
Lunch: $2.48
Snack: 0.74
Is this correct?

Yes and no.... The reimbursement rates aren't necessarily by year (Jan to Jan) but instead are from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016

Thank you, BC!
I am not on the food program and use the standard meal allowance (I realize y wording above was incorrect). If I am reading Tom's Blog correctly I use the Tier 1 rates for the entire year of 2016, right?
"If you use the Standard Meal Allowance Rate to calculate your food expenses, you will use the Tier I rate in effect at the beginning of the calendar year. Therefore, use the above Tier I rates for you 2016 taxes."

That's exactly how I interpreted it as well. Use those amounts for the entire 2016 year.

Yes, use those rates to deduct food expenses for 2016. But, you want to be on the Food Program! Otherwise, you are throwing away $560-$1,180 per child per year.
