Daycare Center and Family Home Forum>Getting really tired of PINK...vent

I have been looking on ebay for some play dishes. Almost, without exception, they're all pink, a few purple, a few primary colors. There are more colors in the little glass/china ones but I want unbreakable ones.

I have dishes but I just like to switch out some for variety.

I'm getting really tired of little girls clothes with so much pink too. The other day my daycare girl came in with a cute outfit that wasn't pink. I just gushed over it and said to the dad "It is so refreshing to see a cute outfit that isn't pink."

I bought some clothes for my granddaughter (7) and even she says "Grandma, I'm getting tired of pink and purple." We found some that weren't but wow is it hard.

When is this crazy pink faze gonna end? I even like the color but enough is enough already!!!!

Don't even get me started on why I can't find a toddler boys shirt that is 'plain'. Okay, I did find some finally on Hanes.com but the sizing says 2-4 so was way too big on my grandson. I kept them and now he is a size 3 so am gonna see if they fit yet.

I am also getting a bit peeved about all the 'character' clothes, toys, etc. Could we, just once, buy something without Dora or Thomas or Elmo on it???
Gosh, even shoes!!! I was sooo happy to see my daycare girl in regular cute shoes. Of course, when I took them off Dora was inside but at least she was inside.

Whew, that was good to get that off my chest.

I am agree. I personally never liked pink, unless its the raspberry type kind.

Im on a mission to find non pink, non character baby clothes for my dd.

Target is good with the plain but cute clothes. Garanimals and Okie Dokie (JCP brand) are plastered with superheroes, cars/trucks and silly animals, blehh.

I have these dishes for the kids. They're extremely durable and look brand new.

As for pink little girls clothing ... that's pretty much all I buy. Pink with sparkles/ruffles/bows and I LOVE it after not experiencing any "cute" clothing with my teenage son.
I do not like anything with characters or words on them. Those are not my style at all as far as clothing for my own children goes. All 5 little boys that attend here have either Cars shoes or Batman shoes.

I buy the Tupperware brand ones. They come in primary colors and are very durable

My boy DCk's play in the kitchen center far more than my girl DCK's.

I don't mind pink, but I get really tired of Dora, etc. I won't buy anything for dc that has any branding. Unfortunately, when I got started, I was buying toys at yard sales and ended up with a couple of Dora things and a couple of Mickey Mouse things. For some reason, Mickey doesn't irritate me as much as Dora.

When I started, I had all girls. I naively thought that I'd go 4 years with my girls, so I bought pink stuff. Now, I only have 1 girl. Both of my other mom's laughed and said the boys were too young to get a complex about playing with a pink truck.

I found some great dishes at a JBF sale, all primary colors. My kitchen is primary colors, so I grabbed them.

I know! My daycare girl has some non pink items by Carters. I've shopped at Carters online and in their retail store also. I think I got some at Macys.com as well.

Oh I like those dishes. I've never thought to look on Amazon. Thanks!

The thing is with the shoes or anything else that even if you want something plain they are harder to find and if busy parents don't want to be bothered they probably just cave. I know I have before.

Wow, I really didn't know if Tupperware was still around. I guess thats good because I never liked going to the 'parties' anyhow.

I do have some 'vintage' tupperware blocks and I LOVE them. They open up and snap together with other blocks. Here is a picture of them but mine are in better shape. Mine take one and open it and use it like a cell phone. One of the children thought of that.

JBF is Just Between Friends. It's one of those bi-annual consignment sales.

On Ebay I see vintage sets and they, for the most part, aren't pink. However, they usually cost a lot because they are vintage. Either that or they are just a bunch of plates or whatever. Oh well, I'll eventually find some.
