Hello!!
I am going CRAZY trying to find one of those large wooden school bus play table thing. Does anyone know what they are called and where I could get one? If you have one, do the kids like it?
Thanks!

YESSSS!!!!! that is exactly ittttt! BUT holy cow the price
Do you have one is your DC, blackcat? Is it worth the price? I would HATE to get something so expensive and then have the kids ignore it all day.

I don't have one but it is cute!
LCLC (a new member on the forum) has one so maybe you could PM her and she could give you some real life feed back on it.
I think it is adorable and I think the kids would love it but it is super spendy and huge! I wouldn't have room for it even if it was free! LOL!!
My DH is also a furniture maker so he would die if I wanted to spend that kind of money on something he would say he could build for less....and then he would forget about it and I would never get one so.... Oh, well, I can still dream!
It is VERY cool though!
The bus activity center is a HUGE hit with my Preschoolers. I attached alphabet magnets from LeapFrog to one side, and they do regular magnetic letters on the other. Usually while one child is playing with the outside toys (cars, magnets, etc.) one or two is sitting inside driving. Not a day passes by that it doesn't get a lot of love.
Oh, and younger siblings all love it as well. It's great for ages 1-6.

Thank you SO much LCLC!!! Where did you buy yours?

Wow! I can't believe you guys are talking about this! I've started a similar project. I got a wooden bunkbed (from freecycle of course) and I'm going to get plywood and outdoor yellow paint to turn it into a school bus playhouse! I'm so excited and will post pictures documenting the process. I expect the whole project to cost me less than $100, probably about $75!
So, if you're up for a fun project and have a handy husband to help, look for some cheap or free bunkbeds for the base!

I was excited to find the bus on CL...thought the kids would LOOOOVE it.. they played it with it for about a week then didn't care...was a big ole toy taking up too much space...luckily I was able to sell it on CL for what I paid for it.

I just found the school bus on my local Craig's lists for $75
I am very tempted to go get it tonight!
Is it really, really large and is it worth it?
I will attempt to get it down to $60

Here are the measurements listed for it: 43 3/4" L x 28 3/4" W x 35 3/4" H
If you click here and then scroll down it shows a picture of the bus with some preschool kids near and in it so you can get an idea of how big it is.
