2 weeks down, 50 to go.

The year started with health issues for me, a referral, an ultrasound, and no answers.

Then my mom was out for a run and got clipped by a car, nothing broken, concussion & lots of scrapes/bruises. Police report made but doubt anything will come of it since there's no witnesses and the car drove away.

And just this morning my dad got tboned while going thru an intersection. He had the green light and the car that hit him ran the red at a high rate of speed.

No more 2017, or at least spread the bad luck out a little bit.

I am so sorry! That is a LOT. It surely has to get better, right?

I'm sorry you've had such a tough start to the new year. Hopefully things will get better soon. I hope your mom heals quickly, your dad will be ok and you find the answers you're looking for in terms of your health issues.

I'm hoping it does! Bad things come in 3 right? So 3 things means we should be good for awhile.

Here's to hoping!

Dad is ok. Some whiplash but otherwise fine. The vehicle is most likely totaled. Mom is recovering slowly. Moving slow and very sore.

My health, I don't even know. I just want an answer other than 'I don't know' or 'Everything looks fine.' Been there, done that before-Don't want to do it again. Not sure I can mentally handle 9 months of 'you're fine. Everything is normal' again. Spoiler alert: It wasn't. Ended with surgery and complications.

Yikes!
As for your health, can you see someone else? Our local hospital is okay for having babies and certain other things but I've heard many horror stories of how inadequate the ER is, among other things. Sadly it's been my experience too. People often end up at one of the bigger hospitals around the state and discover what's really going on. Wonder if that's the case with you? You know there has got to be an answer there somewhere, just a matter of finding the right doctors to look in the right places. Good Luck to you!!
And may your mom and dad both heal quickly and completely! You're right, you got your 3 out of the way, the rest of the year will be smooth sailing!!

It may come to traveling to one of the big name hospitals. It has taken 2 years to get a referral to a specialist and I see him this Tuesday for a consult. I'm praying that he'll have some ideas and not just write me off as a freak. My primary care physician seems to be holding onto the idea that this is all in my head since I have anxiety and depression (controlled with medication and therapy.) I went through the same thing with another doctor back in 2005. Not impressed with the medical establishment and the mental health stigma that so many doctors carry.
