What do you do in instances where parents tell you two different stories? Mom told me dcg slept great last night from 7:30-8:30, so 13 hours. Dad tells me she was up all night and he leg her sleep in until 10:30am. DCG comes in looking exhausted so I put her down for nap.

What gives? Should I say something? This is a family that routinely lies and I only have 13 days left with them. A part of me wants to let them know I know they lie....but it may not be worth the hassle.

I communicate with BOTH parents when that type of thing happens.

If mom says she slept great, I would text her and ask if they have their days mixed up as DCD told you a different story. If either one texted that info, forward the text and ask which parent is correct.

You probably wont get the answer you want/need but you WILL be letting them know that you ARE getting two different stories.

In the future if I have questions or need to know something about a DCK, I text BOTH parents and ask AND share the replies with both. I have zero issues pointing out that I am getting multiple versions from them.

Ok that is exactly what I did! I texted mom asking about her night and asked dad at the door. Told mom what dad said and got no response. I then texted "hopefully she wakes from nap well rested" and then mom says "let me know".

Now they know I know they lie I got a bunch of pushback at the door on Friday because I called for pickup as DCG had a fever. It took mom an hour to get here and it should have taken maximum 30 minutes. DCG was out yesterday with a fever but mysteriously is fine today. Fever never developed into an illness

I hate dealing with parents.

The kid is sick. The mom is lying.

Agreed. Can't prove she is still sick but DCG will be in her bed until pickup.

ALL.THE.TIME.

I can't think of a single issue I've had in the last 5 years that I can't link back in some way directly to the parent.

Got a text from both of them around 3pm asking how she is doing. Mom texts me at 5 (nanna picks up) asking how she ate and how she slept.

Are you kidding me lady? SMH. Love the fake caring

Yep exactly! They wanted to fake concern so they could fake wonderment at her fever returning.

I didn't bother responding to the texts. Nothing is lost on me anymore!

Wouldn't it be nice if we could care for children without dealing with the parents.

I once had a mom text that her toddler had a slightly runny nose. Dad sent me a pic of the child's shirt totally covered in snot and said the child's nose wouldn't stop running. "Slightly runny" hahah ugh

Yes they are coming. Mom texts with Way too many details about DCG having nightmares all night and will need a nap and that she has no fever and cold symptoms. Only child in history whose fevers turned into nothing. She is my only kid today and my daughter is at preschool so easy day for me.

I was gonna call in sick today but I have both their kids on Friday so I will get more bang for my buck if I do it Friday . Petty I know but at this point I don't care! 11 more days and they're gone!!!!

What do you mean "the fever turned into nothing"? No illness after the fever?

Nope, nothing. I have had 4 kids with fevers, two had ear infections (including my own daughter), one with croup and this kid with nothing. Fever Friday at my house, fever on Monday....I would presume fever the whole weekend but they said she was fine.

This is the same parents that kept their 12 month old with grandma while he had 105 temp for 4 days before grandma begged them to take him to the Dr. They did the exact same thing the month prior and mom took a spa day for herself while he had a fever. Both fevers amounted to nothing according to them, just a virus.
