My daughter is 29 weeks pregnant living in Fort Hood Texas, she was just home (Michigan) for two weeks and believe me it killed me to send her back to TX carrying my first grandchild. It wasn't easy for her either, we are a very close family and I know she wants me there for the birth but unless I hire a private jet LOL I don't see how that can happen. She is due September 25th so I am taking the first two weeks of October off to go to TX.

While she was home we gathered a bunch of clothes etc. that I am now boxing up to send to her, I would like to add some stuff to the box for my daughter. She's been getting so much baby stuff that I would like to pamper HER a bit, the problem is that she is very particular about scents of things like candles, lotions etc. but that is the only stuff that I can think of to send. Does anybody have any other ideas? Thanks!

When I was pregnant with my first child, my brother got me a foot massager for Christmas. I enjoyed that. I'm currently pregnant, though only 16weeks), and my favorite idea of pampering right now would be a pedicure. (Thankfully, my sister just got me a gift certificate to get one since my birthday is Wed. )

Is she planning on breastfeeding? If so you could make her one of these baskets. You could also get her a gift certificate for a pregnancy massage (or several of them) especially as she gets closer to the end of pregnancy.

A body pillow! Or maybe a few nice maternity shirts or a basket of her favorite foods and treats.

I have no real ideas besides what the others have suggested but one thing I could not have lived without when I had DS was those wet wipes for after using the bathroom. Specifically the mediated ones for hemroids since they healed me up so much faster and using wet wipes made me feel clean and human again! They are usually in the tampon aisle or in pharmacy.

I suggest them to all expecting moms and most have said the same about them! Maybe just put together a post partum survival pack for her!

Send her some of her fav treats from when she was a kid. Maybe a photo of you snuggling her as an infant. Im a sentimental person so during my pregnancies I would have loved a gift that reminded me of time with my mom.

Dr. Teals "Sleep" Epsom Salt-Lavendar scented. Avail at Walmart I used it throughout my pregnancy and it was heaven. Helped with healing too! Add a "gift certificate" for unlimited newborn sitting while you are there so that she can really enjoy the bath.

I know you said she is scent specific but the scent is minimal and I think they sell a non scented but more spa like one also!

Also, gift certificates for take out/pizza. Sounds cheesy but I loved being able to order a pizza (without the expense factor) those first few days until my mom was able to help out too.

Honestly? Save your money and get her a maid service for post partum. Id of given all of my gifts away for that and freezer meals.

I was going to say maid service (or meal delivery) for after baby. Well worth the money, and by far was the most thoughtful gift(s) I have ever given. They are so well received. I was fortunate that my Mom lived close and brought food and helped clean.

A cute set of nursing pajamas with a little robe, it's always nice to have something cute and comfy to hang out in after the babe comes. Maid service is a great idea

Post-partem maid service is an awesome idea! It depends on how much you are looking to spend on the gift. If you are looking to buy something memorable, I'd go with a nice frame of you two or heartfelt letter accompanied by cookies (or something that she really likes that only you can make). If you can afford it, go with something small like cookies and maid service!

I would say a sleep mask so she can sleep when baby sleeps during the day...I would agree with the massage and pedicure... Also maybe a cleaning service because I had a rough time, I had a c section but you never know if she has one she may need a little extra help...

I have given my sister all the food stuff which she was excited to eat during her pregnancy or the baby bag is good option which any new mom can carry while going outside with the baby, this bag contains all the baby stuff.

I'm 26 weeks pregnant and the thing that I would love the MOST is a maid for after I deliver. That and pre-made meals would be fantastic. Neither will happen but a girl can dream!

I recommend making tons of ready-to-eat meals ahead of time and freezing!

I am sure the information in this thread can still be useful but the OP's grandchild is probably about 8 months old already....
