I have a crazy DCM. She is sweet but has the most absurd notions sometimes. Most of the time I just roll my eyes. This was Wednesday's craziness...
Wednesday is pasta for lunch day. DCB is 15 months and has been enjoying pasta with us for lunch for about 4 months now with no issue. Wednesday morning at drop off DCD says Mom doesn't want him to have pasta today because last week he got sick from it after pick up. I replied that was weird since he has it every week with no issue and he said he threw up and had a fever so she brought him to urgent care and he had a double ear infection...and she is blaming the pasta...the pasta...

That's an odd assortment of symptoms. Does she think daycare is the only place a kid can get germs? Lol

It's not even germs! She thinks eating pasta gave him a fever and a double ear infection!

Wow! I didn't realize ear infections were caused by pasta. Just think how many unnecessary tubes have been placed in children, when we could have just eliminated pasta from lunches! 😁

I'm gonna need the name of the doctor who determined that pasta causes ear infection...maybe he or she could help us get to the bottom of how teething causes 103 degree fevers with vomiting and diarrhea, too!

Just regular elbows with a little butter. She is very weird about food...and everything else. She has been feeding him full beans and rice, not even mushed up, since he was like 3 months old and wonders why he had stomach issues.

You said her kid got sick (usually that means throwing up)

I actually said he threw up and had a fever so she brought him to urgent care and he had a double ear infection. The pasta was not the issue. He's been eating it for months and pasta does not cause an ear infection, which she is blaming on the pasta.

I would say that unless more than one child had a bout of vomiting or diarrhea on the same day that it's not likely something that was served and that ear infections are not caused by food.

Sorry DCD. Unless you have an allergy plan in place from a Doctor then DCB is going to be eating pasta like everyone else.

No one else had an issue and I made it clear how I felt about her belief on this matter. DCD agrees with me.
