I've about had it!

Getting texts from parents who have gotten about a dozen invoices sent to them all at once! I went to look at things on my end and a bunch of their old invoices I Sent are marked as unpaid. I'm not sure even what to do… If I try to fix things on my end it might mess everything up. Anyone else having problems?

Are they no longer accepting support tickets? I cancelled my subscription 3 days ago then discovered that the new program I started using has NOTHING for recording expenses!

I wanted to contact KidKare to see if I could reopen my account but there's no place to submit a ticket.

I put one in and got a response yesterday. It took a long time! My issue was resolved....but man my parents are starting to get impatient with the invoices. Most have started giving me checks instead. I'll go check and see if they still do tickets......Yes...it's still there. Click on get help and then it's on the lower right side. Maybe it's because you don't have a subscription?????? Maybe give them a call?

Must be because I cancelled my account. When I click Submit a Ticket Here I just see the How can We Help? and box below to search the database. No place to submit anything. I don't see any contact info either.

Maybe I'll try signing up again.

It's GOT to get better!

I never heard back from a ticket asking about how they have the time/other/children not present. Not sure if that's the right wording. Anyway.....You have to put in the start and end date. SO! those things you do every day have to be entered in EVERY day! You can't say......(for weekly items)......1 hour per week X 50 hours open sanitizing toys. You have to enter it every ding dong week! Even Tom Copeland says you can do it this way as long as you document a few weeks worth of times. SO....I am not going to use that portion....I'm putting my time with children not present on a spreadsheet. Really wondering if anyone else dislikes this part???????

What a PITB. I don't understand why they didn't just keep MMKPro's features but update them to work on all browsers.

I did find where to email them and asked if my account could be reinstated.

MMK was very 90s and needed to update. I hated that program especially with all the advancements in technology today. I firmly believe that they released KK way too early. Too many issues and bugs wrong with it and food program Angenices are not aware of these issues.

My food program rep knows nothing about KK and it's super frustrating. If I need help or have a problem, they can't and won't help me.

It is compatible with my mac which MMK was not. But it wasn't when it first came out. There are still bugs with it.

No, I'm not sure. But I do know that I DON'T want to record my expenses in a spreadsheet and do the calculations myself. That's just asking for errors!

Ok so I finally went and checked out KK and had everything migrated over. Seems to have everything. My problem is that I don't use the food program so I don't have to have a menu. In order for me to click that I served a meal, it is making me put in everything I served. Is that seriously how I am going to have to do it in order to say I gave a meal??? That is VERY annoying. I am not part of the food program. I loved that MMK just let me select meal one, meal two, and two snacks without getting specific. This will just take me even more time! Ugh. Plus the sign in/sign out section is friggen confusing too. I hate it

Make sure that if you try KidKare and you don't like something about it to start a ticket and let them know. If enough of us complain about the same things then they're more likely to change it, provide a different program for those of us that aren't on the food program or to continue to support MMK for those of us that like it better

I was part of the pilot program when my food program was switching over to kidkare. I had all Apple products and minute menu was a disaster. There were a few isolated issues, that were quickly resolved. I've been on it for over a year and love it...no problems at all. However, I only use it for the food program.

I had zero problems with MMK on my iproducts...but I have a PC on my desk and was using an ipad to check kids in and out with their app.

Hmmm.

Same here. I was also part of the pilot, but my agency SUCKED during that time. they still kept us on lock out even though the program was not operating 95% of the time. there were and still are so many glitches with it. I personally hate KK.

I do think that once they get KK under control, it will be good, but they need to get it together and worse, I think it's horrible that or FP agency is not supportive in helping to understand that the program is not fully functioning, but yet still expects us to make a same day claim. If we can't do that, there are NO exceptions and we just lose out on that day. I am about to be done with the whole thing.

Really? am I really saving more money by being on the food program? I know someone, was it BC that has done the math....

thank you for letting me blow off some steam...lol

I think I'm the only one complaining about one issue. I've sent in 2 tickets about it and they haven't responded. I'm just wondering....does anyone else have an issue with this....or is it just me? Or what am I missing?????/

The time/space....other hours, when kids are not present. You HAVE to put in a start and a stop time. So.....for all those DAILY things we do after kids go home....you have to enter them in DAILY. If you wait till the end of the year to enter it as 10 minutes per day vacuuming X's 200 days open. There is no way to enter it unless you enter every single time.

Anyone else have a problem with this?
Reply
hwichlaz 08:54 AM 02-22-2017
I'm doing it weekly. So on Friday I put "Daily Vacuuming x's 5 days" and I put a start and stop time that includes a week's worth. But it IS a pain.

Someone said on the new program it locks you out after midnight.

Is that for recording meals only, or also for recording parent sign-out times?

Thanks.

You do this through your food program. They can change it for you. We send a form and have to wait till the first of the month to change meal times.

Ok.
So I got my log in info yesterday and I go to log in... it's in English for a split second, then everything changes to Spanish.
I figured out how to log out and try again.
Same dang thing.
I never switched the drop down menu under the log in, I even tried to use it to chose English, but it doesn't look like it works.
I even re-booted my computer and tried again. Same thing happened.

Anyone else have this issue?

I did email them, haven't heard back.

I keep hearing about all these problems, I can't believe they launched the accounting portion without fixing all these bugs.

I decided that this year I'm keeping track on excel, even though I have a paid subscription to MM still. I will probably be finding another software to use

For me, the bugs are annoying, but because I'm not on the food program, KK just makes things take WAY longer than it needs to be! With MMK, I could just type in QUICKLY what times the kids were here, then click a tab and click boxes that said I gave them whatever meals. Easy. I HATE HATE HATE that I have to be specific on meals now. If I'm not on the food program, I shouldn't have to be specific on what I fed them in order to keep track of how many meals I serve.

KK is also confusing on putting in and out times. Ugh. Every single thing about this program is more confusing than it needs to be! Isn't the whole point to changing something is to make it easier/more streamlined?! And submitting a ticket saying everything sucks wouldn't be helpful lol. I tried to migrate over, but hated it. So I went back to MMK for the time being until they force me over. Once the force happens, I will have my husband create a complicated excel spreadsheet that keeps track of everything for me (luckily he is an excel master lol).

I'm bummed to say the least.

Tuesday night when I went to enter my meals, it logged me out and kept telling me that my browser was not letting me in. So I switched browser, then switched devices, then reset my password (which I did successfully but it would not let me use any letters in my password - so it is just numbers)
But it still would not let me in with my new password.
The next morning I got in just fine with my new password.

I consider myself pretty computer savvy and yet, I am having the worst time with this website. Some things are laid out nicely and yet, when you run into an issue... it screws everything up. I just about threw in the towel this morning and went to beg for Minute Menu back. If I wasn't Tier 1, I'd quit this so fast!

I tried migrating back in early December. It made all of my kids Hispanic males, made all of my withdrawn children active (with no way to switch back to inactive), duplicated some of my kids, had the same emergency contacts for all of the kids, and wouldn't let me do invoices. What good is trying to do invoices if it doesn't automatically tally the total hours the child was present? If I wanted to add it by hand, I would be doing a spreadsheet.

I was also immediately locked out from all of the information in MMK Pro, so I couldn't go back into my old invoices or my old expenses that I had already entered. I did about 15 trouble tickets, most of which were either not answered or I was told the problem had already been fixed and I could not possibly be experiencing it. I scheduled a phone call to speak with one of the programmers and never received the call. When I emailed to complain, everyone was EXTREMELY rude about the whole thing. I asked for my KK account to be closed and my MMK Pro account to be reinstated. I don't see how they can possible get anything up and running if there are only 6 programmers and they won't take constructive criticism without taking it personally.

IMO, there was no need to do away with MMK Pro. The accounting features were awesome, the invoicing was awesome, it was user friendly. I never experienced a single issue with its operation. I understand that it would no longer support the new food program guidelines. So create a new food program module and leave the accounting module intact. Why mess with a perfectly good program that literally tens of thousands of clients depend on?

TOTALLY AGREE!!!!

Also wanted to mention that I was locked out of MMK once I set up my KK account, but I was able to go onto the KK website and deactivate my account and MMK was available again. I did this twice actually, trying to give KK a chance. Both times I was sooooo disappointed in the new site. Ugh. I am not in the food program and WISH I could just keep using MMK for accounting purposes. Until I get forced out, I will continue to use MMK I guess. After that, I have no idea

I don't accept the e-pay anymore. It takes 4-5 days to hit my account. Even paypal is faster than that

I accept cash, check, and VENMO .

So I removed the parent's email addresses from kidkare. The invoices are for my eyes only.

If we will be forced over in October, will we lose all of our accounting records for 2017? Will we have no way of adding Oct-Jan 1st to print out our end of year reports?

I am concerned about filing taxes next year and wasting a lot of time this year. I also am not seeing the accounting features I need available on any other program.

I don't WANT a parents app.

We're not supposed to lose them, but I had to redo at least half of my 2016 when I moved over. It's recommended that you save all of those records from MMK by "printing to pdf" before making the switch.

Thank you. I did not know that.

But, I have no intention of making the switch. Ask netflix.

I want them to honor my product until I have completed 2017 year end statements. I purchased year 2017 in good faith, before the KidKare announcement and I want the product I paid for.

I need to continue Oct-Jan1st 2017, then they can fall off the planet as far as I am concerned. I will gladly pay for those extra months.

You will be unable to make food program claims on MMK starting in October. There will be new meal pattern requirements at that point and they aren't updating MMK to meet those.

I don't mean to sound so angry, but I AM angry, and a little scared. I have depended on this program for years and have promoted it LOUDLY all across my region. I don't have time or energy to learn new programs right now with constant QRIS demands. OK, so I am mostly scared.

I need the accounting, child info, meal counts and attendance functions, only. I am willing to pay the full price just to continue those. I am even willing to buy both programs should I reconsider the food program next year.

Right now, I could care less about the menu maker functions. Sure they were fun at first and made it easy to do a rotating menu, but so is Word. I use that function once a year, tops, planning for the year in advance at one sitting.

I don't even use certificates, activity planner, daily reports, resource center or chart maker any more.

I do not use minute menu and never have...but I have started kidkare with my food program for free this month....it is different but no problems so far. Our sponsor says by October all will be expected to switch to kidkare....it appears no paper will be allowed....which will effect many so I am not sure how that will work....another way for state/federal to weed providers out! ALL this talk makes me sad....I really try to come in every day and be positive but all this negativism affecting FCC has to affect the kids in our care with our negative issues becoming so prevalent EVERY DAY!

I understand. You are right. Honestly, if it weren't for the kids making me laugh and my awesome family and clients giving me a reason to keep going, I would probably have to be heavily medicated to complete these goals.

After stomping my feet and shouting a bit, I think I am going to buy KK under another email and play around with it until October "fantasy football style".

Does it make you link your license number immediately or can you "play independently". Clearly I can't change it so.... NEXT plan.

No, it's entirely web based and you need to "save" before switching functions or basically, loading another page.
Without internet, you wouldn't be able to save the page and it will "error" out. Had that happen this week.

I don't hate kid kare, but I defintely don't like it and don't feel as confident and secure with my menus & counts using this program. It's a pain to review days, attendance and meals. MM was much easier.

The free /fp version gives you access to all of these: child info, meal counts (oddly there are 3 reports for this), and attendance functions.

As for the certificates, activity planner, daily reports, resource center or chart maker in are gone in KK, or at least I can not find them in the fp version. (They also do not show on Tom's kk video, either)

The accounting, on the other hand, I do not get what the fuss is all about. I have looked at Kidkare and minute menu videos by Tom and KidKare, tried accounting in MM (when I started) and I just do not get why everyone loves it so much. I have spreadsheets that I created that records all that info, which I feel I have more control over entering data and categories. (including time/ space, which is auto calculated in tax programs) Am I missing something? Is it just the invoice option, that makes it special?

Actual Child Hours in Care – Per Child, Actual Child Hours in Care- Group, Meal Count Report – Annual, Meal Count Report – For Parents, Form 8829 Detailed Expenses, Form W-10 – with total, Schedule C – Detailed Expenses, Standard Meal Allowance – Annual Total, Statement of Accounts - Annual, Statements of Payments – Annual, Time-Space – Time Children Present, Time Space – Other Activities, Time Space Calculation – Annual, Vehicle Mileage, Depreciation, Create and/or Auto Invoices, Receipts, Sign – in – Sign Out sheets, Etc.

Wow you really do depend on MMK. I tried it when I started and I just found it to be slow, time-consuming and outdated. (Plus I was double entering expenses into that and quicken.)

I looked and can not find most of the reports that you listed above in KK, I am not sure if they are not unlocked due to only have the free version or they no longer exist.

I know that I had access to Actual Child Hours in Care reports in minute menu. I used the report for my dd hours to record my hours when I was eligible to claim her. But can I ask, what do you use the Actual Child Hours in Care reports for?

I love the invoice option, but mostly I love the ease of it. It isn't complicated at all. Makes taxes super easy to do ourselves. And in comparing it to KK, I honestly don't understand how anyone would like KK better than MMK. Especially since I am NOT on the food program. With KK, I am forced to put in specifics for meals. With MMK, I just click a box saying what meals I fed what kid. I guess it just isn't streamlines and straight forward like MMK is, IMO.

With MMK, I just click a box saying what meals I fed what kid. I guess it just isn't streamlines and straight forward like MMK is, IMO.
Personally, I do not find KK any better than MMK. Neither of the programs are efficient enough for me, I do not know maybe I am spoiled. I use a program for my church, it is web based and very efficient.

I feel that a program that I am required to use while little ones are present should be as efficient as possible.
KK requires you to use a mouse, it is not 'tab' and 'enter' key friendly. When I click on an infant's name, the page should not refresh and jump to add a warning, "must enter at least one food", that warning should not pop up until you try to save it without any food entered or not at all.

KK will autosave when you enter times but not meals. With MMK I could go through all the meals before I hit save, now I have to save after every meal.
