I need to think positive, feel like I can make it through til spring, get motivated and inspired again. And I seriously need some help. So let's think about the things that are making us happy today, this week, month, even just this very moment in time. Or even something you're looking forward to. Or something you've done with the dcks lately that was a hit.

I can't wait for yard sales to start!! It's going to be awhile but I'm saving my quarters and dollars to seek out deals for dc, making a mental note of things I want to look for.

I'm so happy my roof shoveler guy got every bit of ice off my roof yesterday and now my playroom ceiling isn't leaking anymore!!!

Just this week I received a check from the food program, childcare subsidy and from my dental insurance company so I'll have a good amount to deposit Saturday.

I finally made an appointment to have my taxes done so this weekend I'll finish them all up and get that over with!

Speaking of dentists, I have one that I absolutely love and trust! He's fixing my teeth one at a time(no small feat after neglecting them for 30ish years). I was scared to death of going because my old dentist was not gentle or compassionate at all. This one is funny, has great music , explains everything and has the newest technology in his office. It's practically painless.

So what about all of you?? Good stuff to share?

Getting a new carpet cleaner delivered today. It feels like my birthday when UPS delivers

And now that I've had my 1950s housewife moment I will get in the DeLorean and transport back to 2015.

Josiegirl, my brother and family have been living in my basement since Dec. while their house is being renovated....soooo when I think of what makes me happy?????? hmmmmm!!!! I would have to say silence in my bedroom. My walking each afternoon has been eliminated because it is cold and my treadmill is downstairs.....so I have started junkfood eating in my bedroom I keep telling myself "THIS TOO SHALL PASS" I might as well laugh cause if I don't I would CRY and never stop

Looking at seed catalogs, snooping around the Gardeners Supply website, and planning my garden makes me happy around this time of year! I'm planning on planting oodles of San Marzano tomatoes for sauce this year for the first time, so I'm researching that.

I also have a countdown on my calendar for April vacation. We're heading to Jamaica this year! Can't wait!

As sick as I am of winter, I am happy today that pretty much the entire state of Maryland is shut down because of a snowstorm and I get to spend a relaxing day at home alone with my hubby.

I good dentist is a wonderful thing! My dentist story is... I had a tooth pulled once. They had to give me a little over the legal limit of Novocaine. I was so high when I left there, I was telling everyone how much I loved them!

I saw a picture online where someone painted flowers on the snow on each side of their sidewalk. It was creative and cute! Maybe you can do something like that to make it feel a bit more like Spring.

A few things have made me happy lately.

Thinking about moving to Frederick. The fact that it's not just a dream. I have actually researched on things like housing, jobs in that area, expected money needed to move, etc. Using that information, I have put together a plan on how to accomplish my goal and am implementing that plan so that dream can actually become a reality. The pictures of various locations and a house in Frederick that I posted on my wall above my desk keep me focused on my goal and make me envision being in Frederick which is calming and peaceful to me and makes me very happy.

I got a new daycare specialist!!! You NEVER get a new specialist because you want one! Each specialist is zoned for a certain area/zip code and who you get is simply who you have. But you just don't know how much I NEEDED a new specialist! I have done daycare for about 25 years and have had a few specialists. I have LOVED all of my specialists... except this one. She was horrible! I put up with her for a year or so and finally spoke with her supervisor about the issues I have with her and she said she'd look into getting me a new specialist. The next day, she called me and told me that I have a new one!!

Today's unexpected bit of happiness is that due to the weather, nobody came to daycare, so I get the day off!

You all know how broke I am. I have had only 1 daycare child since September! You also know that I really want to move which will cost money that I really don't have. So, the happy news is that I now have 4 kids! YEAH! Plus I have 2 part time jobs on the weekend, so I am finally back to making somewhat of a decent income.

Deciding to join Sam's Club which allowed me to save money and not have to shop as often.

I actually enjoy working with all of my daycare kids and parents! Typically I have at least one person who I'd rather not have to work with, but in this group, I really like all of my kids and parents.

This winter crap is just about done. As for what makes me happy at the moment? Just a few

Daycare related:

+1 on the yard sales. Plotting a 48 hour complete remodel of my classroom one weekend this spring. Time to find a bunch of new stuff to rotate in and out.

Right now I have a good bunch of families. Even my dingbat DCM isn't malicious or trying to play games, just scatterbrained. Makes my days so much easier.

My 2 infants have been better than I could have imagined. I probably should never take another infant because as good as these have been, the next one will be end up being the Tasmanian devil or something.

Personally:

While my wife and I were gone this weekend my daughter got "off schedule" and wasn't sleeping at night. Only took 2 days to get her back on track this time. Usually it takes most of a week.

Only 3 months till the BLADE Show. It's the biggest show in the knife industry and unlike any other. I love doing this show. Have all my supplies in my shop and now it's time to go to my happy place and "zen out" and create. Get to spend the weekend connecting with friends, checking out new tools and materials, and making $. Plus this year the family's going with me which is cool.

Above all I would have to say what makes me happy is my wife. Sappy I know but true. Having the woman I like, the woman I love, and the woman I desire all in the same place makes things so much brighter.

Hang in there- spring is almost here.

Why are I happy ??

I got through a dark rainy winter and now spring is here ( BC CAN )

the singing of the morning birds and longer days

a house full of giggling laughing children

baby ducks in the laundry room

flowers in bloom

and again I got through a dark rainy winter and now spring is here

Fridays make me happy

In all seriousness though - when I was just a SAHM and did not work I missed the excitement of Friday. Then, it was just another day and Friday was no different then a Monday. I enjoy that feeling of Friday now.

DH and I have an outdoor survival class coming up soon, I am looking forward to that. Partially because I am excited for the class and partially because I know DH is going to be a kid in a candy store and I am excited to see his reactions.

I went bra and clothing shopping over the weekend - that always makes me feel better I have lost a good amount of weight the past few months and nothing fits anymore.

Two of my families have sent me an email or text message in the last two weeks letting me know how thankful they are for me and my services and how much they appreciate me. It came at just the right time too because I was feeling kinda blah about DC. Those little messages mean the word to me.

Ahem.......Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens.....bright coppered kettles and warm woolen mittens.......jk...jk....sorry had to go there...

That first hot cup of coffee in the morn! Love it every time!
And the thought that I'm alive to enjoy it.... Simple pleasures here
That I'm slowly building back up the daycare by being a little more picky about the clientele I'll accept, loving the new clientele coming in, but at the same time enjoying some more "me time" before the daycare is back in full swing, with the opportunity to pick up more books, crocheting, redoing my bathroom, and getting started on the basement daycare

The last pick up of the day especially on Friday lol. Also, we are remodeling our ugly and embarrassing bathroom. We've owned this house for 6 years and when we bought it every room was ugly but had great potential. The bathroom is the last major thing that needed done. In 6 years we finished the basement, rubber walled, added a basement bathroom, remodeled the kitchen, replaced all of the fixtures in every room, replaced the flooring in every room, painted every room, put down sod in the front yard and after the bathroom is done we just have some outside stuff like landscaping and a new cement deck and the 2nd story that is the master bedroom as isn't that bad just not what I wat. We are so close to the finish line!

Making me happy:

The longer hours of day light

Not only have I've been sticking to the health change goals I made in January, but I'm improving on them

I'll have two openings after this school year and they may already be filled with the type of client I prefer (teacher, younger kids) fingers crossed!
