Drop off today.....talk about annoying.....

First Mom.....hey buddy show everyone how you play ninjas with your friends yesterday. Dcb starts kicking the air. (Mom leaves before I can remind her for the 10th time that we don't fight or play guns or ninjas.)

Second Mom.......he's been doing good this weekend so I put him in underwear. It's like he's potty trained. However, he hasn't pooped in 2 days, and he hasn't ever pooped on the potty.

Not a good way to start the day.

Maybe pick up should go something like this:

To DCM #1

"Hey buddy, tell Mommy how many times you had to sit in time out today for karate chopping your friends."

To DCM #2

"No worries about Little Johnny not pooping for 2 days. He took care of business here today. Oh, by the way here is the invoice from the carpet cleaning company. Please bring payment in cash tomorrow at drop off. Bring double the amount if you plan on bringing Little Johnny in underwear again. Thanks! Have a great night!!"

Sorry your day started out so rough!

Lolol!!! Thank you!!! That's awesome. I just don't get how parents think any of this is ok.

Easy they don't think! It is so much easier to go through life without thinking

As soon as I saw the thread title, "Are parents out of their minds?!?", the first thing i thought to myself was, ya, many parents are.

Both statements are true.

I like BC's suggestions. Have you had to call for pickup yet?

Haha. Me too. Yes, yes they are that crazy.
They live in a grandiose delusion about the magical spell their child's presence casts over those of us chosen to be in their presence. Don't get me wrong, I love my dc kids, but parents are crazy nowadays.

See my vent today as exhibit A.

Not yet. Dcb won't drink anything. So peeing hasn't been an issue. This is just ridiculous. He's going to be constipated and dehydrated so he doesn't have to go to the bathroom.

I love the chosen to be in their presence part. That made me laugh out loud. They're all geniuses, and snowflakes.

What a fun start! That full moon creates challenging behaviors in the parents, too, huh?!

I'd stick him right in that pull up and say. "That's great. When he's gone two weeks accident free at daycare he can wear underwear here too!"

Yep, this is what I do. And right in front of the parent. Kids wear undies in my home when I feel they are ready, not a moment before.

Put him in his diaper all day, then give him lots of his favorite drink and send him home in undies. Maybe mom will respect your home when she sees what it is like to clean pee/poop out of her car. I kid, but seriously, some parents make me shake my head!

I'm not in business yet but I just have to say, props to every daycare provider for putting up with this kind of crap day in and day out

Some things are small and can be chalked up to different personalities or an accident, but some things are like.... how on earth would you think that's a good idea?

I'm honestly nervous on how I'm going to do in this business, I seem to have too high of expectations for people..

my favorite:
Dont worry, I put product in her hair, it should kill the lice
and
"She's peed her underwear 3 times, but shes wearing her brothers spiderman, she wont pee them"

My son is potty training (after several months of working on it at home, we started at the daycare).

Yesterday, 15 minutes before pick up, I got a phone call that he had asked to go potty but had already had a diarrhea accident when they got there. I feel SOOOOO BAD. At least they were in the bathroom to clean him up.

Obviously he's not in daycare today, and there's no way I could have known that was going to happen. I still feel so bad.

Luckily, he hasn't had a BM since. Maybe I'm being risky by having him at work with me today in undies let's all hope he's better!
