i would like to do a themed week about "our talents". besides practicing and performing a talent show, what other activities or art ideas could i incorporate into this theme?

You could have the kids "weave" paper placemats to use at home. It's something they can be proud to have created.
How old are the kids?

How about asking your local library to showcase their art projects??? Great way to get the parents to bring the kids to the library, the kids will love seeing their stuff out in public AND if you post your name and phone number, you might just get some new children!

Since every child has different skills and talents, (how old are the kids involved?) why don't you do this: Have an art show displaying special works that the children have done thus far. In addition, for those who do not enjoy art, get together some kids who enjoy singing, and have a little concert. Then maybe a science exhibit for those not interested in art or singing. Maybe a lego exhibit for the kids who love to create things using legos and document what they say about what they have built. In addition, take photos of all of your talent groups as they rehearse or as they create. This could be so cool!!!
