need suggestions for step daughter
Long story short, my stepdaughters mom has left her several times. She behaves very badly for her mom and does ok here. Problem is she gets into a lot of trouble at school I think to get attention from her mom and it works. The more trouble she gets into, the more her mom wants to see her and spend time with her. What should we do about this? It seems the only solution to me is only letting her mom take her on her scheduled days and not letting her call her mom if she gets into trouble because I know this is wrong. She attends counseling.

Who does she primarily live with? What parental arrangement (custody) is involved? What does your DH think? How old is she? How long has she been your step-daughter? What is yours (and DH's) relationship like with mom? What sorts of trouble is she getting into? What does the school and/or counselor say about any of this?
Sorry for all the ???'s but it is hard for anyone to give advice without more details?
