I read this from a FB friend yesterday! Yes, our children are precious and the time does by quickly....but oh my goodness. I can't possibly "cherish" my children 24/7! Mommy needs some time alone sometimes!

I'm glad somebody wrote something about this and how you're not a bad parent if you vent sometimes about the frustrations of parenthood!

Thanks for sharing!

It must be a generational thing...... I am somewhere in the middle.

I am biting my tongue to keep from issuing her some big girl panties.....

Sometimes the eyes need to focus outward.....

Raising kids is HARD WORK but having them grow up and leave is HARDER. Just wait......

She fails to see they are lonely and trying to have a pleasant conversation with her.

It was a fun read, though..... She is an awesome writer.

If you ever get a chance, check out Grandparents.com ... some of those stories will shock you.

Makes me want to call my Mom more...

Oh thank goodness! Someone had the same thoughts I did.....I was hesitant to rain on any parades but thought the same thing.

I am on day 104 of being an empty nester....

Oddly I do talk to my mom more now too...

No worries, Blackcat.....

I am more than willing to spend hours telling you all the crazy things my kids are doing and BEG your advice for as long as you are willing to offer it....

MNMom, I can also understand the joy in cutting yourself a break. It is NOT possible to enjoy every second of raising kids....some of it is downright heartbreaking, frustrating and plain old exhausting. It is like being pregnant and giving birth....if we could all remember it as it really was, we'd never do it more than once...
