Default Feeling Terrible

So DCM came into today to pick up DCB and we got into disagreement. This is the same DCM that husband gave the two week notice this morning.
Even though I was going to give her until the 1st of June before I gave her a notice, I was alittle surprised.
I know this family leaving is the best thing for me and the rest of my daycare families. But why do I feel so bad? I feel like I'm a failure at my job.
Her reasoning for terming was she doesn't like confrontation. And so instead of coming and talking to me it was easier for her to just leave.
Her problem? I don't do enough activities with her just now 2 year old.
I really just hate when a family leaves me. I fall in love with the kids. Why can't we just have the kids and say to he## with the parents.

its just part of the business and becuase our emotions are involved, it always seems to hurt. Don't ever feel like a failure. You can't possibly make every person happy. No way can we meet some of these silly requests and special that parents ask for.

YOu have a great DC and you offer your services to those that use them the right way. Count your lucky stars that the child is leaving along wtih the naughty parents and try to feel better about having your days end on a positive note.

oh dont worry too much about it. I bet there is more there is more than what she is saying.....

"I dont like confrontation" and "you dont do enough with my kid" are very general statements.....it doesnt give you a chance to really address anything or offer alternatives. she's not looking to work WITH you or solve any problems. She was already going to leave and these are the easy words to just throw at you so you get off her back about it. I am 99% sure there is more there.

I agree, I think that there is more to this than they are telling you....When parents feel guilty about something, they often want to find someone else to blame to make themselves feel better.

often we are that someone else because of the roll that we have in their child's life..

Here is to finding the positive and wishing you luck in search for a new child.
